NOT IN OHIO is a story of five childhood friends, who go on one last adventure as adults, when suddenly, they find themselves transformed back into kids.

When BEN, (the dreamer of the group, who refuses to accept that his old childhood friends have parted ways) buys a mysterious map in an online auction, he uses it as an excuse to get his friends back together. It doesn’t take long before the group figures out the real reason why they have come to Cascade Park; a metro park in Elyria, Ohio.

Through the reunion, the old pals quickly learn that despite the added years, their inner child is still very much alive. This becomes more obvious when CHRISSY, wakes up after spending the night in the park. (after she and the gang get lost) The gang discover that they have regressed back to being kids.

To mixed reactions, they realize the map has the magical ability to twist space and time. The only way to return from the mysterious world which they suddenly find themselves in, is to find the doorway out of Cascade Park before the sun sets on the second day. If not, they will remain trapped there for all eternity. The realm they are trapped in is nothing more but a vivid mixture of their childhood dreams, along with all the fantasies from the people who have touched the map before them.

With the help from a solid gold bird named GUS, the group sets out to complete the tasks needed in order for them to find their way out. Things rapidly go from bad to worse when CHRISSY is captured by pirates under the scraggly PIRATE KING BASIL. Soon the friends find themselves separated from each other, during a time when they need to stay together the most. This proves even harder since the hot-tempered JAKE, is continually at odds with everyone and everything around him, including his own older brother MATT. (the unofficial leader of the group) Nor does it help that Chrissy, despite all the years that have passed, still has a crush on Matt. PHIL on the other hand, is as equally crazy about Chrissy. As the surrounding conflicts escalate, they are chased by head hunting cannibals, ninjas and a ferocious beast, none of which the likes have been seen before. The group gradually learns to put their differences aside and work as a team. To aid them in their quest, is the cartoon character MIKEY THE WONDER BOY. He has come to life within the confines of the dream world, and his alien pal CLINGY, whom unknowing to the trapped friends will play a significant role to them. If they are ever going to find the doorway to the real world, they’ll need to depend on each other. Some of the best adventures begin in your backyard.
